Bombora is an indigenous Australian term for a large breaking wave over a shallow area such as a submerged rock shelf, reef or sand bank that is located some distance from the shoreline and beach surf break.

With a strong link to the offshore Australian environment, Bombora-ESP represents an ideal name for an Australian company, specialising in the development of offshore facilities.
